Redbridge Drama Centre

Year 6 were lucky enough to visit the Redbridge Drama Centre to gain an understanding of our upcoming English unit of Macbeth.
Macbeth was written by William Shakespeare, for King James who was interested in witchcraft, black magic and dark arts. They learnt about the origin of Shakespearean language and how, even though the language has evolved over the years, we still use words and phrases till today!
The talented drama teacher, David Alexander, had the children explore key scenes in the play. They used their body language and facial expressions to bring the words on the page to life. The children were fully engaged in the workshop and thoroughly enjoyed speaking Shakespearean English. We are eager to see all the fantastic writing that comes out of this experience.
