Today 17th June 2019, Year 3 children at Parkhill Junior School made history! The children took part in a very exciting project which will be exhibited in the autumn term through to May 2020, at the Tate Britain. Our photographer for the day was David who is one of nine photographers taking part in the project, in schools around London.
The project is the brainchild of artist Steve Mcqueen who wanted to show the face of London’s future, through photographing as many Year 3 children in London schools as possible. The idea is that these children (approximately 80,000) will represent London’s adult working population in years to come. Being at the start of their KS2 journey, Year 3 is the perfect age group for the project.
The children took part in a drama activity, asked the photographer many interesting questions and had their photograph taken. What an exciting morning.
We certainly enjoyed learning today!
