National Anti-Bullying Week 2024

Parkhill Junior School participated in National Anti-Bullying Week during the week 11th to 15th November. The theme this year, being Choose Respect, which we combined with the current theme of kindness. During the week, our pupils participated in activities to develop understanding and how to recognise, avoid and respond to issues around bullying. The children received wristbands to represent their alliance and support in combating bullying. Kimoyo of Class 6I, commented that it helped remind him “about the importance of choosing respect”. Through role-play and working collaboratively, the children learned different ways that they can show respect to others, even when they disagree with them . Marwah – Class 5P said the live the lesson activity helped her “consider how to find respectful solutions to different problems”. The variety of activities included, The British Sign Language ambassadors teaching ‘signs’ related to ‘respect’ to their classes and carrying out First Aid Training, which developed the HPL skills of empathy of showing concern for society. A valuable and enjoyable week of learning for Parkhill Junior School.
