Outdoor Learning Day

The school was filled with a happy buzz of children exploring their school outdoor environment as they completed a wide range of activities during the day.  It all started with a maths trail, which saw children eagerly running happily to solve a range of mathematical questions.

“I had so much fun. The time went so fast. We managed to solve all twenty questions.” Fahima 6S

The Year 6 children continued the mathematical theme when they gathered natural materials to complete a mathematical Sudoku challenge.

Natural curiosity and creativity, inspired Year 4 children to work collaboratively to collect a range of natural objects and create this wonderful weaving. This creativity continued when the Year 3 children painted stones. Inspired by the Parkhill Garden, the children designed their stones in the images of mini-beasts and fruit and vegetables grown in the garden. They have made brilliant vegetable labels. I’m sure you agree!

Year 5 and Year 6, wanted to raise awareness of recycling and reusing our waste materials. They made planters from milk cartons, wind chimes from plant pots and streamers from plastic bottles. Brilliant and how creative!

Th day was a fabulous success and gave the children a chance to use a range of high performance learning skills and behaviours. We look forward to more outdoor activities.
