Apply to start secondary school Year 7 for September 2025
Applications can be made from 1 September 2024, the closing date is 31 October 2024 at 11.59pm. Applications can only be made online via eAdmissions.
This application applies to children with birthdays from 1 September 2013 to 31 August 2014.
If you are applying for a Redbridge community school, read the Admission Arrangements 2025-2026 carefully.
Applying based on where you live
If you live in Redbridge you must apply for a school place through us even if the school is not in Redbridge.
If you are not a Redbridge resident you need to apply through your own council, this includes school places for a Redbridge school.
We advise all foreign nationals who wish to apply for a state-funded school place, to check that they have a right of abode, or that the conditions of their immigration status permits them to access a state-funded school. If a school is concerned that a child may not have a right to enter the country to access a state-funded school, it cannot deny them a place or remove them from the school roll. Schools will advise parents to check their rights or email the Home Office’s school referrals team so they can investigate further.
You can choose up to 6 schools and put them in order of preference on your application. Check the nearest school to you by clicking on the Education tab. This is only a guide based on Google maps, to give you an indication of schools near your home address. The distances provided are not the accurate measurements we use to allocate school places. You can confirm the secondary school catchment area you live in by first clicking on the Education tab, then the Secondary School Catchment Area tab. Catchment area boundaries are accurate.
You are strongly advised to name your catchment school as one of the higher preferences on your application. You will not be offered a place at some of the over-subscribed Redbridge secondary schools if you do not live within the catchment area. For some schools, it is not possible to offer places to all applicants who do live in the catchment area.
Important information for Year 7 places at Seven Kings School
Seven Kings School became an all through school in September 2022. This means that pupils in the primary phase will automatically be given a Year 7 place in the secondary phase when they move up from Year 6. If they wish to progress into Year 7 they do not need to apply for a place. This happened for the first time in September 2022. This means that the number of Secondary Transfer places available to applicants attending a different primary school will be reduced from 180 to 60.
Please be aware of this when you make your application and ensure you name more than just your catchment school if you live in the catchment area of Seven Kings School, even if you have a sibling already attending the school.
We remind all parents that although living in the catchment area of a school will give you a higher priority than those who do not, there is no guarantee that you will be offered a place at your catchment school.
