Science Coffee Morning

During our successful science coffee morning, children and parents put their science and engineering skills into action. And as it was book week, we linked the activities to a range of well-known books.

The first activity involved building a tall, strong tower to rescue Rapunzel from her imprisonment.  Each tower was built using only spaghetti and marshmallows!  As well as having great fun, the groups had to use collaboration and problem solving skills to find a solution. These are many of the skills used in our high performance learning criteria.

For another popular book, ‘Alice through the looking glass’ the children investigated a range of activities around refraction and reflection.

I think the pictures highlight what fun and resilience took place. Look out for the next science coffee morning coming soon.
