Our Year 3 children had the fantastic opportunity to visit a village in Essex called Finchingfield. This was to extend their geographical knowledge about different local areas. They were taken on a tour to visit the oldest windmill in England. The children also visited the local post office and walked around the village green. After lunch, the our high performance learners explored the local museum. They learnt about the history of Finchingfield and enjoyed a presentation about the history of the Guildhall. Links were made to their own local area as we found out that one of the painters in Finchingfield was originally from Ilford.
